Bhakti Marga Art Courses

To share this sublime experience with others, Bhakti Marga Art has re-imagined a beautiful art studio and displays of artworks can be found throughout Shree Peetha Nilaya. Courses in devotional art are held at the art studio and also online, offering different painting meditation and creative art techniques, including Sri Yantra drawing and painting courses.

Art Projects

The painting meditation and art classes support the process of self-acceptance to self-confidence; ultimately connecting with our inner Self, the source of Divine Love. Artistic ability is not essential, just willingness, love of painting and a little patience with oneself.

You will be individually supported in the learning of the basic practice of painting in the following types of courses:

The Painting Meditation with Devotional Images

This workshop is for everyone who wants to connect with Deities and Divine Incarnations and who loves to paint. By concentrating on the stories of the Deities and Saints, we are inspired by Their incomparable example of serving humanity.

A selection of motifs will be provided for colouring. Our 3-hour and in-depth courses are creative art classes where you can experience meditative painting in silence. Artistic experience is not necessary.

The Sri Yantra Painting Meditation

The Sri Yantra has a profound effect upon the person who draws, paints, or meditates on one. It helps to control the mind and the senses, as well as to create a high energy frequency which helps us transform the negativity of the surroundings into a more positive vibration.

The base of our 3 Hours Workshop is a simple, yet powerful Affirmation Meditation to tune into the nine steps of the Sri Yantra. Using these affirmations helps to focus your attention and open portals to the hidden knowledge found within this ancient wisdom tool.

During our In-Depth Painting Meditation classes we instruct new students in the art of designing an accurate Sri Yantra. The final painting process contains 9 levels and is done in silent meditation. We concentrate on each of the 9 levels of the Sri Yantra and are meditating on this aspect of the Divine Mother within ourselves while focusing on the exact chakra to purify ourselves from within. Those levels of the Sri Yantra represent one of our chakras.

The Sri Yantra Drawing Course

The Sri Yantra drawing course, based on the teaching of Paramahamsa Vishwananda are being offered to teach how to recognise and draw a precise Sri Yantra. Although many yantras exist, the Sri Yantra is considered the oldest, most powerful and most effective. Believed to contain the power of all creation, it is considered the true form of Divine Mother Herself.

Our Sri Yantra drawing course is not just about drawing a Sri Yantra. Sri Yantra consists of 9 mandalas which help lead us towards the Divine. Ultimately, as Paramahamsa Vishwananda has explained, the whole universe is present in Sri Yantra. It is not so much about drawing and painting Sri Yantra on the outside, but more about engraving it into our energy system. It is a very deep process of self-transformation and rising towards the Divine. The final painting process contains 9 steps and takes place in silent meditation.

Devotional Art Courses

Devotional art courses allow us to express our devotion to the Divine through art. It is an active meditation in which we connect with the deities and saints we love and a wonderful way to open our heart and calm our mind.

The process of creating artwork takes place inwardly and is expressed outwardly following ones intuition. During the creative process, the artist becomes a vessel for the divine energy to flow through. Being in tune with ones inner guidance and having learned the artistic techniques, the painter is able to create such a devotional image that holds a certain energy which can uplift and bring balance and harmony to people that come in contact with these art works.

In our devotional art workshops you will be guided through the various steps of traditional and modern painting techniques.

Icon Painting Course

Painting icons is a prayer. By concentrating on the Divine we create a connection which enables us to have spiritual experiences. Icons are subject to traditional rules in regards to form, drawing and colouring. The techniques of painting icons are based on the traditional icon painting, yet there also shows up a new aspect in regards to their colouring.

You go into stillness and the thoughts calm down. Painting skills or artistic experiences are not required. Anyone can learn the techniques and they provide a wonderful opportunity for creative expression.

The Art of Deity Eyes and Face Painting

Learn this special practice by attending our popular workshop into the art and design of deity face painting. You will practise lines and dots, receive an introduction for different designs, and be guided by basic colour theory tips to choose the perfect colours for your Ishtadev.

The simple, step-by-step explanations offer an enjoyable experience for any skill level. It's ideal for beginners to learn the basics and for experienced painters to get inspired with new ideas, too.

Decorating the faces of your own Ishtadev is an act of worship and deepens your connection with your personal deities.
