Bhakti-yoga is the most enjoyable and intimate path to communion with God. It is both natural and approachable and yet, at the same time, full of nuance and immeasurable depth. This 4-day course comprises of four modules, designed to take the student on a coherent journey, providing both an intellectual and practical understanding of this beautiful path.

The four modules are:

Sanatana-dharma - An Introduction
This module explores the origins of the world's most ancient spiritual culture, commonly known as Hinduism. It explores its foundations, key principles and varied theistic frameworks, providing an excellent basis for the proceeding modules.

Guru-tattva - The Nature of the Guru
This module explores the complex and oft-misunderstood role of the guru, the spiritual master, in Hindu thought. It begins by tackling the most fundamental question of all - why do we need a guru, and what purpose does he serve? It goes on to highlight the controversy surrounding the nature of the guru - is he an advanced soul? Is he an incarnation fo God Himself? Using Vaishnava scripture, tradition, and sound reasoning, this module clarifies these questions, paying particular attention to the way Bhakti Marga devotees tackle this very issue concerning their spiritual master, Paramahamsa Vishwananda.

This module briefly introduces the Hindu branch known as Vaishnavism, before immersing itself in the origins and practices of bhakti-yoga. Using scriptural references from the Srimad Bhagavatam, we learn about the nine forms of bhakti - nine distinct types of devotional expression and experience. Each of those then serves as the ground for a telling of specially selected stories of exemplary figures in the Vaishnava scriptures that bring each limb of bhakti to life. Lastly, we highlight how in Bhakti Marga, bhakti directed to God is grounded in our tangible experiences with our guru

The final module sheds light on the most valuable knowledge held within our lineage - the doctrine of absolute surrender. We trace the origins of this teaching and its continuation through a disciplic succession that later becomes what we now know as the Sri Sampradaya. Its founding acharya, Sri Ramanuja, and his disciples break down this principle of surrender into practical steps and instructions, which this module highlights.
