Description

Painting icons is a prayer. By concentrating on the Divine we create a connection which enables us to have spiritual experiences.

This seminar is dedicated to St Nicholas. Icons are subject to fixed rules in regards to form, drawing and colouring. The techniques of painting icons are based on the traditional icon painting, yet there also shows up a new aspect in regards to their colouring. Painting is meditation. You go into stillness and the thoughts calm down.

Painting skills or artistic experiences are not required – only the willingness, the love for painting and a litle bit of patience with yourself.

'Painting is Meditation.'

Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda
