God is One yet has many aspects. This truth can create confusion for a devotee and raises an important question: are the different aspects of the Lord to be understood as equal and venerated in the same manner? This confusion is especially acute when considering Bhagavan Shankar, Lord Shiva, as He is held as the Supreme Goal, the Ultimate, by many in India and around the world, while at the same time Vaishnavas accord the same status to Lord Narayana and his Avatars.

On the eve of Maha Shivaratri, the Great Night of Shiva, during which Mahadev is worshipped all night, this lecture aims to clear up the confusion surrounding Lord Shiva by fully illustrating his exalted place as the Greatest Bhakta of Lord Narayana. This beautiful truth becomes apparent when Lord Shiva is viewed through the lens of Vaishnavism and, most importantly, the wisdom teachings of fully realised Master, Paramahamsa Vishwananda.

Come on a journey in which you will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of Lord Shiva, as well as sharpened discrimination about offering love, respect, and worship to various aspects of God, with their different roles in the cosmic order, while never losing sight of the Ultimate.

Live interpretation at Shree Peetha Nilaya

In order to provide the best possible service to our guests, Shree Peetha Nilaya is organizing live interpretation (translation) of certain courses and lectures. The interpretation is done in real-time, allowing participants maximum engagement even if they have no understanding of the language in which the event is held. And all of that is free of charge.

As our interpreters are not always available and/or needed, the following system has been put into practice:

  • When registering for the event, please specify into which language you would need the event to be interpreted
  • Once we receive an interpretation request, we will look for available interpreters
  • After receiving a confirmation from an available interpreter, we will inform you about it and list the language as available on this webpage. It is possible also that no interpreters are available!
  • Please make sure that you register as early as possible and request interpretation, even if the language of your choice is already available.
