Honouring the Goddess of Wealth

Maha Lakshmi is the Divine Mother. She provides everything for Her children. Out of Her mercy, She protects them and bestows the boons of spiritual and material wealth to all those who sincerely pray to Her.

Join us for this auspicious yagna, the holy fire ceremony, to venerate the Divine Mother and express gratitude for all She does. The Maha Lakshmi Yagna is an act of worship and love, celebrating Her greatness and service to humanity.

Maha Lakshmi creates balance by uniting your body, mind and spirit, so that you can advance on your spiritual path.

What to Expect

This event will be led by Paramahamsa Vishwananda and take place in Maha Lakshmi’s home, ‘Shree Peetha Nilaya’, making the event even more auspicious. Over the two-day festival, we will worship Maha Lakshmi with special prayers, pujas and bhajans. We will perform several yagnas and conclude the event with abhishekam to our Maha Lakshmi murti, prasad and arati.

Did you know?

When the yagna was first introduced to Bhakti Marga in 2009, it was called the Bhu Devi Yagna. The name was later changed to the Maha Lakshmi Yagna. Bhu Devi is the personification of Mother Earth and an Avatar of Maha Lakshmi who is the eternal consort of Lord Narayana. The Divine Mother Herself appeared before Paramahamsa Vishwananda and asked Him to name this beautiful centre Shree Peetha Nilaya, which means ‘the abode of Maha Lakshmi’.

Maha Lakshmi Yagna for Kids

For families with children, we offer an all day event for children 6-15. Please see Maha Lakshmi Yagna for Kids for more details.

What to Wear

This is a festive occasion; traditionally we dress in pink, red or green in honour of Maha Lakshmi. Indian dress is encouraged, but not required. Women must wear saris or ankle-length skirts and bring a shawl to participate in the yagna. Men are encouraged to wear kurtas and dhotis, or nice shirts and trousers.

Maha Lakshmi Yagna 2019

Bhakti Marga has its headquarters at Shree Peetha Nilaya, meaning ‘Abode of the Maha Lakshmi’, the Divine Mother. It is located in the beautiful German countryside near Wiesbaden. Residents and guests come together every day to participate in special events, prayers, meditation, singing, seva, and to share their love of the Divine with one another.

Shree Peetha Nilaya - Bhakti Marga

In ancient times, yogis would receive Divine Inspiration through the connection to God in Nature. Shree Peetha Nilaya is such a place.
