The Queen of Vrindavan

Radhashtami celebrates the Appearance Day of Srimati Radharani, the beloved of Sri Krishna. She is an expansion of the Supreme Lord, the embodiment of His Shakti and the personification of devotion. Radha shows us how to rise in Love and reach the Lotus Feet of the Lord through total absorption and single-pointed focus. We pray to Her to bless us with devotion as great as this!

‘Radha is the one who shows the way. She is the one who takes you to the highest stage of devotion, the stage where you will surrender completely to Krishna.’

Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda

Did you know

Radharani is known as the Queen of Vrindavan and Krishna’s most beloved gopi. The two of them enjoyed many intimate Leelas during Krishna’s early years. Their Lover-Beloved relationship exemplifies the highest level of love possible between a Bhakta and the Lord. The sweetness of their love shows us how the Lord is willing to give Himself completely to the Devotee who surrenders fully to Him.

What to Expect

Join us as we expand our daily prayer service to celebrate this auspicious day with special pujas, abhishekam, bhajans and Satsang glorifying Srimati Radharani.

What to Wear

Radhashtami is a festive occasion, and traditionally we wear yellow as that is Krishna’s favourite colour. Indian dress is encouraged, but not required. Women are asked to wear saris or ankle-length skirts. Men should wear kurtas and dhotis, or nice shirts and trousers.

Sponsor this event

Most of our festivities are free and open to the public. Sponsoring a puja is wonderful way to say thank you to Gurudev for all the blessings you have received from Him. It is also a generous way to help make the event available to others and to contribute to making it memorable for everyone.

The act of giving from the heart is a true blessing in and of itself. By helping to sponsor the event you reap the benefits from all the prayers done during the festivities. Even if you are unable to attend the event, you may still take part by becoming a sponsor.
